The Role:
Are you an operational mastermind with a passion for high-stakes logistics and a talent for building a world-class media service? We are looking for a Communications Operations Coordinator to serve as the functional engine of the Formula E press office. This isn’t just about managing media; it’s about architecting the global stage where the world’s most progressive racing series meets the international press corps. Reporting to the Communications Manager, you will be the bridge between the paddock and the public, ensuring that from the first accreditation request to the final checkered flag, the media experience is seamless and professional.
Infrastructure Architect & Media Logistics: You are the lead designer of the on-site Media Centre. From initial scoping to the final technical layout, you ensure that hundreds of international journalists, photographers and broadcasters have a world-class environment to tell our story. You own the end-to-end accreditation process, managing 100% compliance with FIA standards and legal requirements, ensuring that every stakeholder, from factory teams to global partners, has the access they need to capture the action.
Process Optimisation & Tactical Operations: You thrive in the details of the "how." You will develop and refine the inter-departmental workflows that connect Sporting, Technical and Event teams. Beyond the track, you are the backbone of the department’s financial health, reconciling budgets, managing supplier contracts and navigating the end-to-end purchase order process with surgical precision. You don't just follow processes; you innovate them to keep our global operations lean and efficient.
On-Site Excellence & Stakeholder Liaison: In the high-pressure environment of a race weekend, you are the "unflappable" primary contact. Whether you are coordinating high-profile grid moments, managing press conferences with the Tech & Broadcast teams, or troubleshooting real-time requirements for the international press, you provide high-level support with total confidence. You oversee the digital transformation of the media experience, managing virtual press kits and reporting on accreditation data to fuel the championship’s growth.
What we're looking for in you:
The Operations Powerhouse: You have a proven track record in large-scale event production or complex logistics. You understand the unique demands of sporting events and have experience navigating multi-stakeholder environments. You are a disciplined "finisher" who can manage a budget and navigate financial administration without breaking a sweat.
The Collaborative "Road Warrior": This role is a global journey. You are ready and willing to travel to every race on the Formula E calendar, typically arriving a week before the event to lead our on-site media service. You are a proactive team player who builds strong relationships across functional areas to ensure the entire "operational engine" runs smoothly.
The Precision Coordinator: Your organisational skills are your greatest asset. You possess an "operations-first" mindset, capable of managing complex accreditation inboxes, drafting technical procedures, and maintaining departmental assets across multiple global projects simultaneously. You are IT literate and have the confidence to direct personnel during the most intense media activities.
Unflappable Under Pressure: You thrive in the electric, fast-paced atmosphere of live racing. When timelines are tight and requirements change, you remain calm, clear, and effective. You don’t just handle the pressure; you use it to drive creative concepts and service innovations that elevate the journalist experience year after year.
