The Role:
This role is offered on an independent contractor basis.
The base location of this role is flexible within the UK / Germany / Spain / Netherlands.
€100,000 with a competitive OTE bonus.
Are you a powerhouse commercial leader ready to accelerate the growth of the world’s most innovative racing series? We are looking for a Sales Director (Europe) to join the Formula E team. This is a high-impact, dual-purpose leadership role where you won't just oversee a region, you will actively shape the commercial landscape of sustainable motorsport across Europe. You are the senior regional ambassador, bridging the gap between global strategy and local market execution to ensure Formula E remains the premier platform for innovation and high-adrenaline sport.
You will balance the leadership of a high-performing team with your own direct business development. You are as comfortable in the boardroom closing deals as you are on the ground coaching in-market managers to achieve excellence in ticketing and hospitality.
Regional Revenue: Your mission is to ensure 100% delivery of cumulative revenue targets across all European races. You aren't just hitting numbers; you are identifying cross-market opportunities where a local partner in one territory can be scaled across the entire European circuit, driving long-term commercial sustainability.
Direct Deal Origination & High-Level Ambassadorship: You personally identify and close significant local sponsorship and trackside activation deals that define our European portfolio. Beyond the deal, you are the face of the brand, representing Formula E in press interviews, on industry panels and at high-profile ticketing launches across the continent.
Leadership, Mentorship & Operational Synergy: You lead a diverse team of In-Market Sales Managers (across Berlin, Madrid, the UK and beyond), driving accountability and professional development. You act as the vital regional conduit for Global Sales, Marketing and Media teams, ensuring every local activation aligns with global brand standards while respecting the unique nuances of local business cultures.
What we're looking for in you:
The Senior Commercial Powerhouse: You possess significant experience in a regional sales leadership role within sports, media or entertainment. You have a deep, active network of corporate contacts across major European markets and a proven track record of closing sponsorship or activation deals.
The Empathetic & Decisive Leader: You are a master of remote team management. You know how to motivate and coach field-based sales teams to over-deliver on revenue targets. You thrive on "in-market" presence, preferring to be on the ground talking to partners rather than behind an office desk and you possess the cultural agility to manage diverse personalities across Europe.
The Diplomatic Visionary: Your communication skills are exceptional. You can align diverse stakeholders, from team principals and C-suite executives to government ministers and local agencies. You have the "big picture" vision to drive the region forward while maintaining the discipline to dive into local operational details when necessary.
The Adaptable Global Ambassador: You are confident, personable and articulate, whether you are in front of a camera or addressing a room of industry leaders. You are comfortable with frequent travel and the fast-paced, unpredictable nature of a global racing calendar. You don't just follow the mission; you champion it.
